This piece is significantly better than the other one, possibly because it has an interesting color due to the spots. Nice work.
A few tips that I can recommend (disregarding the background) are that:
-The first thing I noticed was the horse's anatomy. The anatomy in the legs are a bit off, but for some reason you always do an awesome job with the head. Next time try using a reference to get the leg anatomy perfect: [link]
-Also, you made a little mistake not filling in the horse completely. (In reference to the socks and legs mostly) Doing that tends to brighten up the picture. If they aren't colored in all the way it could make it look like a toddler didn't stay in the lines or something.
-Maybe try making the paw print on it's rump a different color, as to not cause confusion about which are spots and which are indian markings.
*I love the beads on the horse by the way.
